CMYSA Travel League Information

For 2012 CMYSA travel soccer has a primary goal to continue forming our travel teams based on a policy of age and skill appropriate team configuration. The policies used to formulate player and team placement are now based on the best resources and recommendations we can get from US Soccer and MYSA.

Here is a list and short definitions of some of the more important components of CMYSA Travel Soccer Policy.

v CMYSA TRAVEL HANDBOOK-CMYSA has a handbook that outlines all the responsibilities of CMYSA travel players, parents and coaches.

v CMYSA TRAVEL TRYOUT POLICY-A written policy for tryout participation and evaluation.

v TRYOUT CRITERIA-a list of the four pillars of soccer; technical, tactical, physical and mental.

v TRAVEL PLAY-UP POLICY-the CMYSA policy for considering requests to have players play-up an age group.

v ZOOM REPORTS-the previous year coaches’ evaluation of their players 4 pillars of soccer skills. Goes towards 50% of current year tryout score.

v TRYOUT EVALUATION-the score sheet used by evaluators to grade try-out performance

With the current travel policies and procedures it is the belief of the CMYSA Board that the travel program will continue to improve. Our mission is to provide kids the opportunity to play soccer in an age and skill appropriate environment. For some CMYSA members the recreational league offers the social and recreation outlet they are looking for. The travel program is looking to attract those players that want to play at the next level. Our commitment to those players is that we will continue to find and implement the best policies, training and environment to foster their love of the game!
